Why does Jimmy go to 6666 Ranch?
Jimmy left the Dutton ranch to work at the 6666 ranch in Texas. There, he learns to rope and gets engaged to a veterinary technician named Emily, with whom he returns to Yellowstone. Jimmy is not leaving Yellowstone and is expected to be in Season 5.
No official cast has been announced; however, in Season 4 of Yellowstone, Jimmy was sent to the Four Sixes to be whipped into shape. He fell in love with the place and decided to stay instead of going back to the Yellowstone Ranch.
Jimmy moved out of the Dutton ranch in Yellowstone season four and it was undoubtedly a surprise for a lot of long-time fans. With the blessings from John Dutton, he returns to work at 6666 Ranch in Texas permanently rather than returning to their ranch in Montana.
After Jimmy arrives in Texas, he meets two older cowboys, one played by the actor Barry Corbin and one played by Welch himself. "There are three Gods in Texas," another character told Jimmy. "The Almighty himself, Buster Welch and George Strait. You just met one of them."
Yellowstone season 1 even revealed that Jimmy's father and the rest of his family were either in prison or dead. As for Lloyd, his past is largely a mystery, but it's clear that he is not related to Jimmy in any way.
Instead, he got back up on the horse and got bucked right back off — and hard. It was the final straw for John, a betrayal as Jimmy went back on his word instead of honoring their agreement.
The character spent most of the show's fourth outing at the 6666, appearing in interludes throughout season four and subtly introducing the new setting as well as some new characters—most notably Emily, a new love interest, who he revealed in the season finale is now his fiancee.

After John Dutton found he had been unable to turn Jimmy into a real cowhand that he could rely on, he sent him off to the 6666 Ranch in Texas. It was kind of a desperate last try to make a useful employee of Jimmy.

We've seen him in Urban Cowboy, Dallas, One Tree Hill, The Ranch, and more, but here, he plays an anonymous wise old cowboy at the Four Sixes Ranch in West Texas.
